EACCR was born from a desire for the Holy Spirit's powerful movement.

The English African Catholic Charismatic Renewal (EACCR) didn't just emerge. It was born from a deep well of experience and a burning desire to see the Holy Spirit move powerfully within the Catholic Church, beginning with the Anglophone African Communities of the Diocese of Columbus.

One of the founding members, Brother Bryan B Bezeazu-uh, brought with him a rich history of service in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR). Since 2004, he has served as CCR youth coordinator, prayer group leader, Ministry coordinator, and evangelism teacher. His passion for the Spirit's work led him to found and nurture several CCR prayer groups in Cameroon, Belgium, Germany, and Maryland, USA.

This wealth of experience, combined with the shared yearning of another individual, Louis Nkom, within the Cameroon community at St. Dominic's in Columbus, sparked the formation of EACCR. After two years of prayer and seeking God's guidance, alongside counsel from then-priest-in-charge Fr. Jesse Chick, EACCR was officially launched in March 2024.

Thanks to Rev. Leo Connolly's welcoming spirit, and with the mediation of Fr. Cyprian Obioha and Fritz Mirville, the Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal became the fellowship's home, providing a space for this Spirit-led community to grow and flourish.

EACCR is a testament to the rich sacramental foothold of the Catholic Church, the universality of the Spirit's call, the power of spiritual discernment, experience, and a burning desire to see lives transformed by the Holy Spirit. It's a place where faith comes alive, community thrives, and the love of Christ shines brightly.

While EACCR's roots lie in the African (Anglophone Cameroon) Catholic experience, it embraces individuals from all walks of life, united by a shared desire to grow in faith and experience the fullness of God's love in prayer, fellowship, and charity.
